Wonwell Class (KS1)
Welcome to Wonwell class!
We have a mix of Year One and Year Two children who love to learn and work alongside each other brilliantly. Our teachers are Mrs. Mitchell and Mrs Rundle and supported by Mrs Wilson. We like to bring learning to life by using our amazing outdoor environment as much as possible. We learn through half termly topics which means that our learning is always placed within a meaningful context.
This half term our topic is 'Enchanted Woodland' We will be doing much of our learning outdoors. We’ll visit our forest school area, observe the wildlife, collect natural objects and take beautiful pictures of the things we see. After our woodland adventure, we’ll write about our experiences and learn all about trees. We’ll use information books to investigate woodland creatures and make mini-books of our own. Throughout the project, we will find out how to recognise different plants and animals and create detailed, observational drawings of them. We’ll build miniature dens, create woodland works of art and construct mini-woodlands from twigs, sticks, pine cones and leaves.
Please click on the link below for our topic map. You will find information about our long term planning under 'Curriculum' in the Parents tab at the top of the screen. You will also find our weekly timetable below, although this is sometimes adapted
