The School Association is a charity registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales. We therefore abide by Charity Commission rules and regulations and are bound by our Constitution.
School Association are committed to supporting the staff and the Governing body to ensure the continuation of the outstanding education that our children receive. It is up to the School Association to assist in providing those extras that our children love so much such as the Trim Trail, Multi-Cultural Days, help with transport costs, story tellers and external visitors and most of all, maintaining the swimming pool.
The School Association has been an integral part of the school community for a number of years. In the last four years the School Association has raised over £50,000, which has been spent on equipment and resources to enhance our children’s educational experience and the school’s facilities, including the outdoor areas and adventure play-ground, new library books, sports gymnastic equipment and the running of the school swimming pool. There have been many fundraising events which have included three summer balls, quiz nights, Christmas Fairs, summer fairs, talent shows, music shows, cinema nights and not forgetting the fabulous Holbefest fun day.
Family support and community presence help our children to grow up healthy, smart and strong, so the collaboration of parents and guardians with our school takes on critical importance. Contributions of time and talent through the School Association enrich and strengthen our school community, and our children’s experience. There are so many opportunities to help out; HSA members have helped as classroom assistants, reading partners, forest school helpers, office volunteers, landscapers, painters, shoppers, celebrators, and of course, event co-ordinators. Whenever there is a need for help, we ask our parents and guardians to pitch in!
We are also keen to ensure that the School Association has a broad remit offering both fund-raising and free events, supported by activities at no cost to parents such as the ‘Giving Machine’ online initiative. Please give it a go.
During the Academic Year 2016-2017, the School Association has had and will be having many events happening to raise funds, which will benefit the children of Holbeton Primary School. These have included the festivities of the Christmas Fair, Bingo Night, Barn Dance, and summer Holbefest. It is always great to have new ideas, and we would love more people to come and join us.
