Our Class Structure

At our school, we are proud to offer a warm, nurturing environment where children learn together in small, mixed-age classes. We currently have three classes:

• Stoke Class – Nursery (from age 3), Reception, and Year 1

• Mothecombe Class – Year 2 and Year 3

• Bigbury Class – Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6

Our small class sizes mean that every child is known, valued, and supported as an individual. Despite being mixed-age, children benefit from highly targeted teaching and a tailored curriculum that challenges them at the right level.

All of our teaching staff are experienced in delivering and adapting an ambitious curriculum that meets the needs of all children. This ensures every pupil is both supported and stretched in their learning journey.

One of the greatest strengths of our school is the way children work together across year groups. Older pupils act as role models for younger ones, and younger children gain confidence from the friendships they form with those further up the school. Visitors often comment on the sense of community, teamwork, and mutual support that shines through our classes—something our children are rightly proud of too.
