Before starting, volunteers must read our Volunteer policy and complete the Volunteer Agreement (Appendix 2), which sets out the expectations of volunteers and asks volunteers to confirm they have received a copy of the policy.

Holbeton Primary School will seek enhanced DBS clearance for any regular volunteers before they come into the setting to protect the staff and children. Volunteers without prior DBS checks will not be left alone with children and will be supervised by a member of staff, as per KCSIE requirements.

Volunteers will be given a copy of the latest version KCSIE (Part 1), Holbeton Primary School's Child Protection & Safeguarding policy and the WeST Code of Conduct  to read before starting and will be asked to sign a declaration confirming they have read and understood these documents.
