Beach Pre-School is an outdoor educational experience where children learn a range of activities through play and engagement with the natural environment.
With the kind permission of the Flete estate every Monday, come rain or shine, the pre-school children are taken down to Mothecombe Beach under full supervision of our staff. The children love walking down through the beautiful paths and scenery and setting off their imagination ready for the activities offered at the Beach. Having the beach to ourselves means we can run free and utilise all the wonderful resources we find. If the weather turns rainy or cold we take shelter in the tea house on the beach and toast marshmallows and warm up by the fire. We meet at Mothecombe House at 08.45 to 09.00 and head off for our adventure, returning to the car park for 12.45. The children bring their lunch and enjoy this out on the beach or in the warmth of the tea house. Our sessions are run with minimum of 4:1 child to adult ratios to ensure your child is remains safe in this outdoor environment.
At a time when the government is actively encouraging learning outside the classroom, our beach pre-school offer a wonderful opportunity in an outstanding environment to our children. Here are some pictures of the wonderful things we have been up to.
